An extensive jewelry shop is featured on the Getaway, as well as a well-stocked liquor shop. To be honest, I found the NCL logo shop, Tradewinds, to be rather lacking. On our voyage aboard the Getaway, there was not much to browse in terms of Norwegian Cruise Line specific souvenirs. For guests looking for a tasty and cool treat while strolling The Waterfront, Dolce Gelato is the perfect stop. I did not experience this show while on my sailing, but it is something that I would love to catch next time should I have the privilege of sailing with NCL again! The show and dinner costs $29.99 per person for both adults and children.

Although Norwegian Getaway doesn’t sail from Florida as often as it used to, the ship was built to ooze Miami, starting with the hull, with art designed by Miami artist David "LEBO" Le Batard. It's impossible to miss the painting, which features a mermaid and pelicans and employs the colors of the sea. Inside, the overall color palate successfully melds bright purples and turquoises with more muted browns and gleaming silvers. Norwegian Getaway has a total of 2014 cabins (of which 1343 outside, 530 Inside, 127 single cabins) in 42 grades. The largest aboard Norwegian Getaway is the Haven Deluxe Owner’s Suites (740 ft2).

The Garden Cafe is the cruise ship’s buffet, with ocean views and snacks or full meals available just about all day long. The options are pretty varied, with all your buffet staples and lots to choose amongst. Mini-suites are slightly bigger than the balcony rooms, with better bathrooms (double sink, body jet, handheld showerhead), 1 sofa bed, full-sized closet.

In this area, guests can find multiple swimming pools, hot tubs, and multi-level water slides. NCL currently boasts the fastest water slide at sea, the Free Fall. These two drop-slides let guests experience up to 4Gs as they take the plunge down multiple stories of water slide.
